About packs

What a pack is

A pack is a document a server can install. It holds ids and structure only, never media files or images:

• universe: an ordered viewing path across films and series
• rules and overlay packs: smart rules and overlay definitions your server applies
• channel template: a schedule shape to build a channel from

How installing works

Your server fetches the pack you choose, shows you what it references and which of that you already own, and materialises an editable local copy. Nothing after that happens silently: an update to a pack you installed arrives as a suggestion for you to accept, never a change that applies itself.

How publishing works

Packs are published from your own server, through the API, under your wovin.tv handle — never typed into this site. Here you can edit a listing's title and summary, unpublish a pack you published, and vote for packs other people have published.

The privacy contract

Linking a server ties it to your account so you can revoke it. Wovin never publishes which server installed what; a pack page shows a vote count and an install count, never who.

Something wrong?

Every pack can be reported from its page once you are signed in. A report goes to a queue a person reads. A pack that is taken down keeps its versions — servers that already installed it are not left holding a broken reference — but stops being listed and stops being downloadable.
